If your are running a newer OS then it will cost you about $10 to reset the counter with the WIC reset tool.īest place for everythig to do with resetting and external waste ink systems is: Įxecpt I think your are way over the line. Make sure your Printer is loaded onto a PC with No later that VISTA. Go to the bottom of the papge and accept the terms before downloading I think your R1800 can be reset with the SSC reset tool. Then as your Waste ink counter builds up to near max, you would use a utility to reset them to ZERO.

Your best bet, a long time ago would have been to install an external waste ink bottle to bypass ink being dumped into the "Waste Ink pads". You have to strip theprinter down to nothign to get at them so why not replace them while you're at it. Yes and they should have replaced them raqther than Flip Them.

So my question is.can this spongy thing (please advise proper term !) be replaced? I can't do anything else till I get more ink, and hate to throw more money at this if this problem is terminal. Just one, and then the problem resurfaced.and the desiccated spongy area is soggy again, and I replaced three other inks that were running very low and ran several more cleanings. I looked inside at the long spongy area that the print heads go over, (sorry don't know the term), and on the farthest left side, the sponge is partially desiccated with a little metal showing on one edge, and loaded with black ink which I carefully sopped up with paper toweling and got the printer going again.Īfter several nozzle and head cleanings, during which time I replaced three ink cartridges, I managed to get a decent print on Epson Photo Glossy paper.

I have had the pads reversed (flipped ?) by a local authorized Epson Printer service about 6 months ago, and in the past few days, noticed heavy black ink smudges on the edges of some regular paper printing.
